Happy Thursday. Today's song is the Siamese Cat song from the Lady and the Tramp. It's only the first bit. If you need to hear it first check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlQYqQs0R3w. It starts at the 30 second mark. This version is a bit easier than that of the film.
Happy Piping!
A penny whistle can play just about any song, but it's hard for those of us that don't read sheet music to find tabs for music we actually want to play. This blog is for anyone that wants to learn something other than Irish folk music.

Okay, last of for today and then I think I'm done with Zelda for a while. This is the Prelude of Light. It's just what you learn to play, not anything more because there really isn't anything more. Here's a link for your listening pleasure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Slcd9ZdZ9cc.
I always really liked the Serenade of Water from Ocarina of Time, but because of some of the notes, it makes it hard of a penny whistle. Here is as close as I could get. To hear this song click on the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZt_4hIr3x8. It's a ten hour version so you can hear it over and over until you have the timing.
Figured I'd go with more Zelda because it's fun and easy to pick up. This round it the Minuet of Forest. This is the whole thing and not just what you are taught in the game. If you need to hear it for timing check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTZGykGWWMY . The part you want to hear is at 1:02. Happy piping!

This is Epona's Song from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. These shorter tunes are so quick so I thought you could use a couple for the day. Hope you enjoy and if you need the timing, you can find it at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq8pAK5tlUc. The song starts at 1:06.

This is what happens when I get into a posting mood, you get three in one day. This one is a Zelda tune, the Song of Time. It is the full piece when played in the game. I may have added an extra note, but I'll let you guys decided. Hope you enjoy and if you need a reference for timing, check out, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nIkA0HV9KI
I decided to try something new this time. You will see some white in the circles, but still place the note as if the whole circle was filled it. This one is High-Ho from Disney's 1937 classic, Snow White. This only loops the song once, but you can play it twice.
I'm hoping to add most Disney in the future, especially with summer right around the corner, and maybe more Zelda too. Have a great Memorial Day!

Hey, it's Piper here and once again it's been a while. I know there are some out there who have sent requests, and to be honest, I haven't had a lot of time to translate. I am going to try to do more Disney soon. I know I have a request for a Hercules song and I'll see how that sounds on the instrument. Have a great Memorial Day!

It has been a really long time since I posted anything and I thought that it was time. This time around we're doing the Misty Mountains from The Hobbit. The plus under the note means that you need to go up an octave.
Peter Hollens does a great a capella version of this on Youtube. So check that out if you have a hard time with the timing. You can click the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEwzFF4HeB8
Hope you enjoy and let me know what songs you want me to try to convert.

Hey everyone. I just got my birthday present and it's a brand new 12 hole ocarina. It's design is based of The Hobbit. It's surprisingly heavy, and I haven't yet gotten the hang of how to play it. I have a feeling that nothing is easier than the penny whistle, but it's so pretty. I got mine from http://www.stlocarina.com/hobbit.html.

Well, we all made it through Wednesday, that's always a good sign. Today's song is All the Pretty Little Ponies. This song was the lullaby in the newer version of Flicka with Time McGraw. This is just the tune for the lyrics. If you need to hear the timing, you can check out the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deeitJjK7Q0.

So, I thought about continuing the Zelda theme, but I shall save that for another day. I think today, we'll throw in some classic Disney.
That's right, if you've already tried this one without looking for a title, it's Beauty and the Beast by Disney. This is the version that Mrs. Potts sings in the animated film.

This is the lullaby from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. Arguably one of the most popular games of all time. If you need to hear the timing for this song check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9FeFkMyBIY. There is a slight variation to this version.

For my first song, I chose Concerning Hobbits. I'm almost positive that the main instrument for this piece was a penny whistle. Yes, you can find this song on the internet, but they never seem to add the higher part after the initial run. I hope you enjoy. Leave me a comment with the difficulty and I can add that. Thanks.
Hey everyone, if there's anyone there. The name's Piper. I started playing the Penny Whistle just about a year ago, but I noticed that I couldn't find any tabs for the music I wanted to play, like the Zelda Video game music, it was all for an ocarina, or Disney music. Couldn't find any. So I decided to figure it out myself and write it down. Now I want to share it with anyone who wants to learn something other than Irish Folk Music. So here we go.
